"I would not trade it for any picture in the world. It has in it all that you feel about Spain when you are there and all that you feel when you are away and cannot go there. No one else has been able to paint those two opposing things."
Ernest Hemingway describing Joan Miro's painting titled The Farm 1922 (above)
Mike and I are leaving for Mallorca, Spain today. If you are receiving this blog it's either because you have expressed some desire to join in on the experience and beauty of Spain, or I'm the pain in your neck you just can't rid yourself of. Either way, if you wish to be removed as a recipient, please let me know.
And, if I have technical issues this will be the only post.
Onward to a new adventure in Mallorca, Spain. We will be arriving in Palma de Mallorca on Sunday. Our first stop will be the Fundacio Joan Miro, the Miro Museum and former home of Joan Miro. After that we are hoping to visit The Castell de Bellver, a Gothic castle built in the 14th century that is one of the few round castles in Europe. Then we are supposed to take a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter and Jewish Call.
Whew! We will be ready to drive to Northern Mallorca to the town of Pollensa and our "villa" where we will be staying...and drink a Mahou...I hope!
Bona Salut!
